There have been different quantitative studies/surveys made by various health organizations that deals with food safety, food lifestyle, nutrition, and health-related concerns. Let's take a look about some eating fun facts to broaden that research.

1. Americans consume an average of  156 pounds of sugar per person each year in the US. Who would have thought that an average Joe can fill himself up with that amount (half of his size) of sugar! Candies, chocolates, cakes, and ice creams are not only the culprit. In fact, any form of carbohydrate food, when digested, becomes sugar in the body. So, better watch that carb intake or else you'll develop sugar-related health issues such as diabetes that will lead to more complications concerning the heart and other vital parts of the body.

2. 75% of Americans say they choose foods that are lower in fat at least sometimes. With media bombarding our televisions about the seriousness of obesity and how it has become an epidemic in the US, this percentage is a positive result that most people are becoming health conscious. Though they don't religiously choose healthy food in every meal, but we can say that it's getting there.

3. An estimated 20% of all American meals are eaten in the car. With the hectic day-to-day schedule, a drive-thru meal can be a handy. Munch a burger, sip a coke - one can do this while driving his way to the office.

4. An estimated 43% of American families eat meals together daily. This habit is very important in each family. This is where you can talk about your day, how it went, have fun time with children, and discuss other family issues. With the rise of broken families, not only in the US, we can sit down and take a look on what's wrong...or maybe they just need to spend time together (at least 30 minutes) every meal, to share their thoughts and resolve it while having dinner.

5. 33% of Americans typically eat with the television on the entire time. According to Center for Advance Health, people who watch TV while eating increases the risk for becoming overweight. Previous studies have been made stating that kids that watch less TV loss weight. Why? Because they are not sitting as much, not eating  as much food, and not getting stimulated with delicious snackss that they see in the tube.
