Elias by Crisostomo: A Delectable Turn of the Filipino Century Dining

Dining in at Elias by Crisostomo at Bonifacio High Street has been a wonderful experience. For 3 hours or so, I felt I traveled through time and went back to our dearly respected Dr. Jose Rizal's novel "Noli Me Tangere". The interior aesthetics, menu items, wall images and other details are well contrived to the Spanish era. Come, let's dig in to what the restaurant has to offer.

The Food:

Appetizers

This is Bagumbayan Lechon Kawali. I think this is an off-the-menu appetizer. A very crispy and thinly sliced pork lechon strips with fish crackers paired with lechon sauce. Good for sharing.

Don't confuse Mang Pablo to a person because it isn't. It's a special tapa placed in a banana leaf sided with sliced tomato and a cup of vinegar. yum! I don't exactly know if this is also off-the-menu since I cannot find the price of this foodie.

It doesn't look like one but this is called Tinapa ni Tiburcio. A tinapa (smoked fish) and salted egg wrapped in a crispy lumpia wrapper. Price: Php200

Main Dishes

Lengua Estofado is an oxford tongue seasoned with hot chilies, mushrooms and olives topped with fried saba. Price: Php375

The Pinoy Paella is very interesting. This is Elias' very own version of Spanish rice dish cooked with big yummy prawns and chopped chicken, pork & chorizo. Price: Php350

This is the Paella Negra. Do I need to explain why it's negra? (teehee :) Again, another rice dish with adobong pusit and pork cooked with pineapple. Price: Php300

Binagoongan ni Pia.  Filipinos will definitely love this version of binagoongan. A very lovely plating of pork cooked in shrimp paste (bagoong). Price: Php295

Don Filipo is not like your ordinary adobong pusit. Another main ingredient of this dish is pork. Enjoy! Price: Php330

Don Rafael Crispy Pata is a classic deep-fried pork leg with garlic sauce, atchara and soy vinegar. They also serve Don Maximo if you like your pata hot & spicy. Price: Php550

If you want to taste a unique rice dish, try the Tinapa & Salted Egg rice. Need I say more why? Price: Php250

Meet Emilio. It has slices of beef morcon cooked in a special sauce finished with egg slices. Good plating, good taste, good food. Price: Php395

This is a batok ng baka mechado cooked in native tomato sauce. Mechado A La Bonifacio is Php395.

The Pompano Tausi is a sauteed pompano fish with chunk tofu and black beans. Price: Php595

Binondo is a plate of breaded prawns with sweet chili sauce. Price: Php495

Vegetable

This vegetable dish is very catchy-the Pilosopong Pinakbet. I was told that instead of bagoong, they used the kare-kare sauce to give it a different taste. Price: Php325

 Pizza

Saturnina is a very tasty pizza. I say the taste is very interesting. Imagine a chicken pork adobo with mangoes & egg topped with Adobo flakes. Price: Php325

Dessert

Iday, a suman with chocolate fondue. The sweetness of the chocolate will balance the taste of all the good Elias dishes you have taken. Price: Php180

The Place:

Elias by Crisostomo is located at 204 Upper Ground North East Superblock, 7th Avenue corner 30th Street Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City Taguig.

How to get there:

From Market! Market! walked towards Serendra then High Street. It isn't hard to find since that is the end part of High Street.
